Varsity Golfer — State Medalist

I am an incredibly hard worker and I try to put 100% of myself into what I am passionate about. Golf is one of those things, so I am willing to put in the work necessary to become the best player I can be. School, and eventually my career, is also important to me. Academics is one of my strengths and I work hard to keep my grades up while actually learning the material. To do all of this, I have to be good at time management and have a good mindset. In golf I display this by making time to practice and knowing that my bad shots do not define my round. I worked hard to build my mental game so that I can reset after each shot — this especially helps me recover and save par or bogey after a bad shot. In these and many other things I do, like extracurriculars and my faith, I understand that I am not a perfect person, mistakes will happen, and it's my reaction and how I move forward that will change the outcome. In a college program, I am looking for an atmosphere that helps me continue to build my skills and strengthen my weaknesses — a team that builds each other up and a golf program that pushes me to be the best player I can be. Academically, I am looking for a school that is challenging. I like to work hard and really understand what I am learning, and tough classes are one of the best ways to ensure that happens.
